Captain Jeremy Blunt

Captain Blunt first developed interest in the boat, and sport fishing world when he went to work at Stoney Creek Bridge Marina in Baltimore. His time at Stoney Creek lead to getting valuable experience running boats around the marina and acquiring general knowledge of boats in general.

After a few months Captain Blunt was able to get a job with the mechanic who worked on boats at the marina. He helped him haul out, block and winterized all the boats for the winter. Learning everything from boat handling while moving the boats from there slip to the boat ramp to general mechanical systems while winterizing.

He was asked to go on the Jet Suzzet when the owner took her from Baltimore to OC. The day after arriving in OC Captain Blunt went tuna fishing for the first time and fell in love with offshore fishing.

That summer he was hired by the Ocean City Fishing Center as a dockhand. His summer working the dock led to getting Captain Blunt’s first job on a charter boat the Fish Finder with Captain Mark Sampson. Aboard the Fish Finder they averaged 100 trips a summer and Captain Blunt learned the ins and outs of charter fishing.

Captain Blunt got his 6 pack captains license in 2002 and this lead the first captains job aboard the 43 Custom Carolina Hot Rod. Experience gained running the Hot Rod allowed Captain Blunt to have the opportunity to go to florida and run the 36 Jersey Cape Sherri Lynn out of Islamorada.

After  two years running Hot Rod in the summer and fishing in Florida in the winter Captain Blunt was offered a job to run a 52 Viking Ynot Mabel for the owner. While aboard Ynot Mabel he won the OC tuna tournament in 05, placed in the top 15 twice in boat release points for the WMO and caught the first white marlin for the OC Marlin Club. Aboard the Ynot Mabel he again would take the boat to Florida for the winter and spent time in Palm Beach and the Bahamas.

After the Ynot Mabel program came to an end Captain Blunt moved on to the 40 Luhrs Wave Dancer in 07. After fishing a season on the Luhrs he oversaw  the purchase and outfitting of there current boat 39 Venture. Captain Blunt decided that his interest in charter fishing and want to run his own program he solicited the owner of the 61 foot Hatteras Samurai 1. With the owners blessing he designed, ran and made a very successful charter operation that ran for 5 years. This job was again a charter boat and I was responsible for every aspect of the operation of the boat and business. While fishing the Samurai 1 Captain Blunt took 2nd in the Poor girls billfish tournament in 09 and the OC Marlin Cubs Heels & Reels first place tuna.  After selling the Samurai Captain Blunt have moved all charters to our new boat the 57 foot Custom Carolina WRECKER.
